PHP 32 a bottle.
Despite Kowloon House’s long history, around 35+ years in my estimation, that’s the single most important piece of information you need to know about the Kowloon House branch along West Avenue in Quezon City. I won’t bore you with any heartwarming, nostalgic stories of meals enjoyed and memories made at Kowloon House. Though they may elicit a sigh or two, they have absolutely no relevance to you.
PHP 32 for an ice-cold bottle of San Mig Light, PHP 192 for a bucket of six to help wash down their equally inexpensive, but abundantly flavorful dishes.
Frivolity aside, that’s pretty much all you need to know.
Fried Wonton – PHP 100
We didn’t like any of their steamed dimsum, which were of the cheap frozen then thawed variety, but we did enjoy these fried wontons.
Resembling those small metal disks with a fluffy tail of shredded plastic, I wanted to kick these off the side of my foot right into my waiting mouth.

Spicy Beef Steak – PHP 95
Simply put, this was motherfunking delicious. Tender, somewhat sweet and spicy with lots of pieces of chewy tendon, this is one dish that we’ll definitely be ordering each and every time we drink here.
They also have a sizzling variety with raw onions served on a cast iron plate that looks just as good.

Yang Chow Fried Rice – PHP 65
About as golden yellow as a golden yellow bed of Yang Chow fried rice can get. Very flavorful, not to mention a great deal at only PHP 65 for this small mountain of rice.

It’s worth noting that they have a drive-through window from which we ordered chicken curry pies for only PHP 25 apiece. These were delicious as well, and another great deal since they were of a good size.
The meat was moist and extremely flavorful, mildly sweet with a strong curry flavor. We’ll be having these bad boys for breakfast all of next week. Yum!
