In addition to some light Flash animation, the client also wanted the website to be multilingual and easy to manage, which is why I chose the Joomla platform. This was pre-2.5, so I had to install the powerful Joomfish component to handle all translations.
With the advances made by WordPress in the last few years, I’ve pretty much switched entirely to that platform. Not that I have anything against Joomla. I love it. But WordPress is so much easier to use, which is convenient for clients who don’t have a background in web development.
Joomla 2.5 and 3 may have radically improved over the last couple of years, but I haven’t checked them out yet, not with this website being the last that I’ve had to do on the Joomla platform.
